The End. Book One. The structural edit on book one is finished. The working title is Autumn in Copenhagen, but it will not be published under that title. Aksel and Anneka needed ninety thousand words to tell their story. All of the words fit together now, and seven other books were introduced by the secondary characters in book one. I don’t plan to pitch this book to a literary agent yet, although I have spoken to an agent about the first draft. Anders and Aile need to tell their story, and their rough draft is nearly finished. I like to binge-read and often won’t start book one in a series if I know I have to wait a year for the second book.

I highly recommend teaching videos from Donald Maass on how to add emotion and microtension to novels. I listened to the audio recording of his session at the ACFW 2023 National Conference three times while revising this book. I also found a site that has his current teaching videos. These sessions are not free, but they are reasonably priced. You can save the recordings on your computer for future use. I find his workshops more helpful than his books, but the books are cheaper.
