I learned to write decades ago at Wellesley College, where I wept over paper essays covered in red ink, studied French and computer languages, and met women with myriad world views. I have read widely on military and religious history prior to 1750 in Northern Europe. I am also related to the late Norwegian linguist and Sámi historian Just Knud Qvigstad.
My history blog is a hobby with no income and no ads.
All writing on my blog and in my books is my own, with no AI generation or revision. I use text-to-voice to read my words out loud so I can edit them myself. I am not anti-AI for everything, but I do believe creatives in all fields should disclose which portions of their work are of human origin and which are not. A sonnet written by a machine is just following the pattern of a sonnet scraped from a real writer in the past.
I’ve included a photo tour of a historical miniature collection on my blog as a free virtual museum. The pieces belong to a large extended family and are not for sale.
