These three dolls are in the stairwell of the apartment building, preparing to enter the apartments on each of the three levels. The doll in the riding ensemble was made by Connie Sauve in 2000. I do not know the provenance of the other dolls. The chair in the third photo is by Through the Keyhole.
In England, the years from 1870 to 1900 were the late Victorian Era, and the years from 1900 to 1910 were the Edwardian Era, named for Queen Victoria and King Edward. In America, the four decades could be called the Gilded Age, although definitions of the when the Gilded Age began and ended vary widely.
Men still wore suits for most sporting pursuits, although tweed and white linen came into use as breathable sporting suit material. The doll in the center is wearing a typical golf ensemble. The doll on the left is dressed for riding.
