Georgian Hair.
This six-inch doll has a set of wigs. Women in the eighteenth century did not wear wigs unless they had lost their real hair due to disease or age. They did use hairpieces, however, to add extra curls and buns. Hairpieces clipped into their natural hair and made fancy hairstyles easier to execute.
These wigs are twenty-five years old and a bit worse for wear, but fortunately the curls and plaits are intact. A wealth of information on eighteenth century fashion and hair is available on the American Duchess YouTube channel, including this very long demonstration of eighteenth century hairstyling:

This is not a sponsored post. When I was a seamstress for a small ballet company in a rural area, I relied on the internet to find details on historical costumes and found American Duchess to be very helpful.
